Funky Happy Hippo Love Earrings

Seriously "squee-worthy" pairs of momma and baby hippos adorn these fabulous and incredibly light earrings!

These earrings feature intricately detailed, three-dimensional wooden Japanese ojime beads made of boxwood. These handcarved snuggling hippo beads are made out of boxwood and are signed by the artist.
But look how adorable they are!
Because Japanese kimonos do not have pockets, small bags were used to hold personal effects. The bags were attached with a cord with two carved beads: A larger toggle bead (netsuke) and a smaller sliding bead (ojime). Ojime were also believed to have magical or protective qualities.
The hippos hang from silver plated (over surgical steel) hooks, with tiny little accents of sparkly browns, green, and fire-orange Swarovski crystals and fine pewter.
