Summer Solecism
The focal bead used in this loop pendant is really spectacular. It's a watery luscious floating garden of organic borosilicate glass - with deeply encased yellow sunflowers over blue-green fields. The bead is irregularly shaped for added interest - the work of artisan lampworker Rose of Rosebeads-n-Bottles. It is surrounded by surrounded by swirled borosilicate donut beads encased in clear for depth of watery teal-blue-green swirls, and some faceted fne Czech glass beads of teal green hues, with little silver accents.
The loop is double-strung with strong nylon coated wire and hanging from a satin cord which closes with a lobster-claw clasp that has a teeny starfish charm accent.
Borosilicate glass is a special kind of glass which is actually more durable than normal glass - it is the same kind used in Pyrex and is less dense than ordinary glass and it also requires a much higher temperature to melt compared to ordinary silicate glass.
This necklace also looks wonderful on a black or chocolate brown cord, so if you'd prefer a color other than the emerald green shown here, just let me know by adding a Note To Seller at checkout time when purchasing.
